Ashley Young

I want my career to positively impact education, and queer and indigenous communities–all of which I represent. Vocal performance is my greatest passion and strength. I taught myself songwriting and guitar in 2020 to achieve creative independence. After 11 years collaborating in bands, I could finally share my personal message of love, loss and change: a love letter to my community. My solo project gained traction in January 2023. Anchorage Daily News mentioned me as Alaska’s potential breakout star of 2023. The popularity of my act boomed when I was privileged to support Medium Build's sold out west coast "Health" tour. My second DIY tour is scheduled for April, 2023, through which I will promote my second EP. I am currently collaborating with Tlingít language learners and dream of collaborating with seasoned songwriters for future projects.
