BIOGRAPHY
Mei’Lani Blue Coat is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. She was raised in Eagle Butte, SD, for most of her life. She is a 20-year-old full-time student at the Oglala Lakota College studying for her Bachelor of Science in Social Work. In her free time, she likes to bead different projects, sew, cook, and laugh with her family.
Mei'Lani previous experience is at Eagle Butte Primary School, where she assisted in answering phones, maintained filing systems, prepared agendas, and assisted the youth.
In her role as Program Assistant, OLA, Mei'Lani will prepare for events onsite, assist workshop leaders with participant registration and data collection, assist in the hosting of Artists in Residence (AiR), and provide office support for Program Managers and the Associate Director of the OLA. Mei'Lani will report to Leslie Mesteth, Associate Director of OLA.
