Kansas Begaye is a dynamic and accomplished individual with a deep commitment to Native American communities. Born and raised, proud member of the Diné Nation in Waterflow, NM. Kansas brings a unique perspective and passion to her work, reflecting her dedication to preserving and promoting Native American cultural values.She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Native American Studies from the University of New Mexico with an emphasis in Indian Education, where she learned about cultural, historical, and philosophical ideologies of Native American communities. Armed with this academic foundation, she embarked on a career spanning over a decade, contributing significantly to the betterment of Native American communities and Native-Led Non-Profit organizations.Among her notable achievements is the recognition she received by winning a Native American Music Award, showcasing her talent and influence in the Navajo music industry. With four albums sold internationally, Kansas has reached a global audience, spreading the richness of Native American culture through her music.In 2013, Kansas achieved a significant milestone by being crowned Miss Indian World. This prestigious title not only recognizes her personal achievements but also positions her as a representative for Indigenous Nations globally. Through this role, she carries the responsibility of embodying and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Indigenous peoples on an international stage.
