Meet the 2025 Community Spirit Award honorees

First Peoples Fund is proud to announce the 2025 Jennifer Easton Community Spirit Award recipients! These six extraordinary Native artists and culture bearers will each receive a $50,000 award, honoring their lifelong dedication to cultural preservation and creative work. With over $300,000 in support this year, we celebrate their transformative impact on Indigenous communities nationwide. Meet the 2025 honorees, whose artistry and commitment uplift their communities and embody the spirit of cultural generosity and ancestral wisdom!

Justin Kíí Huenemann (Diné), President and CEO of First Peoples Fund, shares his enthusiasm for FPF’s new Native Performing Arts Program, “First Peoples Fund was founded to honor and support Native artists and culture bearers, a mission exemplified through the Jennifer Easton Community Spirit Award (CSA). This award celebrates those who embody the essence of Indigenous creativity and community, recognizing that the evolving future of Native arts and artists is deeply rooted in the teachings of our ancestors and the legacy of past artists and teachers.” He adds, “Through the CSA and our ongoing work, we continue to elevate culture bearers, honoring their transformative contributions and vital significance to Native communities..”
